The London Dessert Festival

On Saturday 17th August 2019, Grace and I attended The London Dessert Festival, a celebration of London’s dessert community, held at The Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. I had seen the Festival advertised in Cosmopolitan and thought it would be a fun way to spend a Saturday since we both love dessert. The website for the event was very cryptic about exactly what to expect at the Festival other than appearances from top influencers and some of the biggest names in gastronomy, so when we joined the queue outside the event on Saturday morning, we were still unsure about exactly what we were walking into.

The Festival turned out to be stalls from a selection of London-based dessert companies selling a range of products from doughnuts to waffles to dessert-inspired cocktails. Some of the stalls sold solely food and drink whilst others had interactive elements including demonstrations, competitions to win prizes and Instagram sets. Grace and I decided to purchase four desserts between us to share since there were so many options to choose from.

Grace opted for Nutella and Oreo flavoured ice cream rolls from Pan-n-ice and a mini Taiyaki (fish-shaped cone) filled with Nutella. Check out her blog post for pictures of these desserts.

I decided to order Lemon Meringue Cookie Dough after sampling all of their flavours and a Red Velvet Cake In a Jar. Both desserts that I chose were delicious and you never would have known that they were vegan.

We left the event feeling very full with our camera rolls full of photos that we had taken at the event. I think we will definitely both be attending next year. If you like the look of The London Dessert Festival, you should check out The London Brunch Fest, being held on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September 2019.

Which is your favourite dessert that we chose?
