Enchanted by Westgate

On the 27th October 2018, I was kindly invited by The Body Shop to attend their ‘Enchanted by Westgate’ event to commemorate having had their store in the Westgate Shopping Centre in Oxford for one year.*

Turning up to the event I was not entirely sure what to expect, having only been told the name of the event, but I was quickly greeted and put at ease by a member of staff who ticked my name off the guest list and passed me over to another member of staff who helped me to make a name label using their body butter label maker.

Once everyone had been greeted and given a name label, we were introduced to all the members of staff running the event and given a short introduction to the event, which included a free make-over, skincare consultation and hand massage. Leon kindly provided the food for the event.

I decided to have a skincare consultation first. I was sat down by a member of staff who asked me about my skincare routine (practically non-existent) before assessing my skin in terms of oiliness (minimal) and hydration (37.5%). Following this consultation, she recommended some of their products for me to help reduce oiliness and increase skin hydration. The products she recommended for me was the Vitamin E Skin Care Range including the cleanser, toner and moisturizer. This range is suitable for all skin types, is their best selling range and is infused with vitamin E to leave skin feeling clean, supple and hydrated. She tested out the products on the back of my hand to demonstrate their effectiveness and my hydration scored improved to 50+%, showing just how effective the products are.

Following the skincare consultation, I was introduced to another member of staff for my make-over. Since I was already wearing minimal make-up, it was agreed that she would just add make-up to the existing foundation. She added another coat of mascara, highlighter, blush and lipstick to help accentuate my features.

As part of the event, we were able to receive a free gift bag if we spend over £25 with the opportunity to win more products if we successfully managed to throw a ball into one of a selection of cups, all of which had a different product written on the bottom for us to win. I have attached the picture below to highlight how many beauty items were included in the gift bag (I purchased the Vitamin E range myself) – I was truly spoiled.

Huge thank you to The Body Shop for inviting me, all the staff members for being so friendly and welcoming and to my boyfriend for accompanying me to the event.

*Disclaimer: I was invited by The Body Shop to the event but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

    • I am slowly working my way through all the products, although disappointedly I did not like the smell of the pumpkin body butter or shower gel. It was such a small but cute event and I feel so honoured to have been invited. Thank you for reading and commenting. xx

    • Thank you! I am actually really disappointed because I do not like the Pumpkin smell at all but the strawberry one from years ago was one of my favourites of theirs. xx

  1. […] I was also fortunate enough to attend my first blogger event in October. The Body Shop in Oxford were kind enough to invite me to ‘Enchanted by Westgate’, an event to celebrate having had their store open for a year. We all had a skin-care consultation, where we were advised the best facial skincare products for our skin, and a make-over. I had an amazing time so thank you to all the staff involved in the event. You can check out my post on the experience here.  […]
